Have You Tried the New Evernote Smart Notebook?

by Jonathan on November 5, 2012

How do you go about getting things done? Do you like to work off paper, notebooks and whiteboards? Maybe you all 100% in the technology column? You like getting things done through electronic means like apps and Google calendars.

I don’t know about you but I live in a constant state of tension when it comes to getting things done. My tension is constantly battling between the technology world and the physical world. Let me explain.

Why I Love the Technology World

I love using technology because it can simplify your life when used correctly. For example, being an Evernote user has allowed me to have a paperless work environment. It also keeps me from having to waste precious minutes looking for important documents. Technology allows me to be mobile as I use Evernote on many different platforms. By the way, if you want to become a Evernote Ninja in 1 hour, see my blog post.

Why I Love the Physical World

I am also a very visual person. I have found that I work best with whiteboards. Whether it is setting goals or working through the stages of a big projects. See my post about how to get things done with a whiteboard. When things are out of sight….they are out of mind. I have several whiteboards in my home office so I can visually see the goals I have for the next 90 days.

Does the Evernote Smart Notebook Merge the Two Worlds?

Evernote Smart Notebook ReviewI am thinking about purchasing one of the new Evernote Smart Notebooks. I won’t go into great detail about it at the moment. In essence, it is a moleskin notebook that has smart stickers you can use. As you record thoughts in your notebook, they can be captured and automatically indexed into tags and folders according to the stickers you have.

Could you do this with a traditional moleskin notebook?

This Evernote Moleskin notebook comes with smart stickers and it claims it is easier to scan pages because of the special lines it uses.
