An Inside Look and Review of Huddle.com
I have been watching huddle.com as a cloud and project management software for some time. Recently they have made some improvements and upgrades that I felt were important enough to do a more thorough review of the software. The following is my review of Huddle.
What Exactly is Huddle?
According to the site, huddle is an online productivity software that allows your entire team to easily collaborate and share ideas. It is ideal for both the soloprenuer as well as a big corporation. They even offer a 100% adoption guarantee, which is a pretty bold move. This can be a big game changer for companies who want to hire freelancers as they can easily integrate them into the team without setting up a physical location. Watch the video below for a quick overview of the power of Huddle.
Why Choose Huddle?
Here are some of the benefits that I can see for going with Huddle. This benefits are all unique to your particular situation.
Organizing everything on the cloud. While this is a scary leap for some, the cloud has been proven to be way more reliable at not losing data then trying to use your own servers. Storing information on the cloud allows for your workers to be more effective as they have secured information at their fingertips.
Easy integration with existing systems. Huddle has an open API. What that means is that it is an open source to allow customization for your current workflow. Whether you use sharepoint or need it to work with Office applications, it can be done.
Online file storage and sharing. Using the latest encryption technology, Huddle allows you to store all kinds of important files online. Whether you need to share a Word document or store an important PDF for later retrieval this can be done with Huddle.
Project management is simple to use. Another feature that I like is the ease of use in assigning and managing tasks. There is even iCal integration and you can link up your Outlook Calendar as well.
You can make it your own. Huddle also allows you to use your own logo, colors, skin, and design. This way you can provide a feel of owning your own project management tool.
Mobile apps look and work great. They have iPhone, iPad, and blackberry apps which can make your productivity sore by having your whole team in the know no matter where they are. If you are a using of Linkedin, there is also a neat application for huddle there as well.
What I Would Change with Huddle
Integration with Evernote and Google Docs. I would like to see that there is a better way to integrate both Evernote and Google Docs. Maybe there is a way to do this but I did not see a way. I am just a big user of both and it would be helpful to be able to find existing docs that I already have stored on either Evernote or Google docs. For the most part I store PDFs on Evernote because the text is searchable later. I store spreadsheets on Google docs because they are not as easy to edit in Evernote. Other then this one suggestion, Huddle is a nice service for getting you or your team to be better productive. They are currently, offering a free trial to try them out. You can find more info on their home page.
Questions: Have you had a chance to try out Huddle? If so, what did you like?
