My Favorite Positive Thinking Quotes

by Jonathan on November 28, 2010

Famous quotes can be inspiring and incredibly motivating when you are feeling discouraged. I strongly encourage you to collect quotes and review them often. In my home office, I have inspirational quotes hanging all over my wall. Positive thinking quotes can be inspiring as well. I want to share with you some of my favorites. Reading positive thinking books can be incredibly motivating. That being said, a transformed life is more than having some positive thinking exercises or even positive thinking techniques. Remember, just thinking positive doesn’t mean that you live in a fanatasy world that is not realistic. Rather, inspiration gives you the encouragement that there is hope in the future. Which brings me to one of my favorite positive thinking quotes:

“Hope for the future gives you power in the present.” – John Maxwell

In your past you could have been a complete failure. In your past, you could have lived one disaster after the next, but that does not mean that your future will mirror the past. Having hope for the future will allow you the power that you need in the present to keep going and to keep striving to reach after your goals. Another one of my favorite quotes comes from the late Jim Rohn. He has several one liners that are rich in truth. This next quote is one that I have taped to my computer monitor. it goes like this:

“No one else can do your push ups for you.” -Jim Rohn

In other words, there are just some things in life that only you can do. We hear a lot about outsourcing these days. Many people have figured out how to get others to do the majority of their work for them. However, there are just some things only you can do. You cannot outsource your personal health, raising a family, loving others and so on. You have to buckle down and personally involve youself in the most important areas of your life. Your personal relationships are not just going to be nurtured on their own. You are not going to live a healthy life by avoiding good eating habits and important exercise routines. As you can see, I have many positive thinking quotes that have guided my thoughts and philosophies of life.

Lastly, I want to share with you a quote that I read in Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” I actually saw this quote during my third time thru reading the book. I never saw it before, but this time it really meant something to me. In the beginning of the book, he talks about one of the most foundational truths in the whole entire 7 habits book. Those who propel forward in life choose to be proactive. They understand that they control how thet react to the circumstances that happen in their life. The quote I love says this:

“Proactive people take their own weather with them.” -Stephen Covey

I love this quote. It is absolutely one of my favorite positive thinking quotes. You have a choice as to how you are going to respond to anything that happens in life. Are you going to walk around with a dark cloud over your head always choosing to see the dark side in everything? Is the glass always half empty in your life? If so, you can begin to behave differently. It is your choice. My hope and prayer is that these quotes will mean as much to you as they have meant to me. Reading inspirational quotes is like filling the fuel tank of your emotional life. You should have a way to collect quotes as you discover them. I use a free software called Evernote to capture all of my quotes. I just copy and paste and then tag them as a quote. I am also able to do a keyword search anytime and see what quotes might encourage me.

    Hi,

This is a very good compilation! I really like Jim Rohn’s quote. For me, it tells us to live your life the way you want it to be. You take control of your life and do things you like.

    Keep it up!

    Jonathan,

First of all, I appreciate your short “bio” above and its emphasis.

Second, this could be somewhat of an motivational/inspirational quote in itself:

“Reading inspirational quotes is like filling the fuel tank of your emotional life. ”

A well said and appreciated post. Thank you for the thoughts.

May you and those you love have a wonderful week,

    Lee
