How to Wake Yourself Up
One of the biggest challenges I have in life is falling asleep. I know what most of your are saying. If that is your biggest challenge in life then you do not have many challenges. I would agree with that. Still, I am jealous of my wife because she can easily fall asleep. No matter when I eventually fall asleep, I find waking up to be a breeze. When I wake up, I am ready to go and attack the day. Honestly, I hope that I do not wake up too early because I know that I won’t be able to go back to sleep. Today, I am going to talk about how to wake yourself up.
How to Wake Yourself Up
I am going to provide several tips and ideas. Most you may have heard of before, but they do work. I started waking up early in the morning about a year ago. I initially did this because I really wanted to make a go of it with blogging. I was beginning to gain traffic to my blogs and I wanted a dedicated, uninterrupted time slot everyday to do my writing. I started by waking at 4:30 each morning and I liked it because I had zero distractions for at least 2 if not 3 hours every morning. This personal time became addicting to me. Here are some tips on how to wake yourself up.
1. Find something to do first thing in the morning that your passionate about. Like I mentioned earlier, writing and blogging were quickly becoming a new found passion. The more I spent time doing it, the more I wanted to write. This excited me to spring up out of bed. For this to work, it has to be something that you are extremely passionate about doing. Some examples could include writing, jogging, reading, starting a business, and so on.
2. Set the alarm clock across the room. Sometimes the biggest challenge is just getting out of bed. Oftentimes, I have set an alarm that causes me to get up. Once I am up, I get moving. This tip really helps me because I have a no exceptions rule about crawling back in bed.
3. Drink a large glass of cold water as soon as you wake. I started this habit about a year ago and it has really helped me. Drinking water has more benefits that it is possible to include in one paragraph. The bottom line is when you wake up first thing in the morning you are dehydrated from the night. Don’t believe me? Think about how dry your tongue is in the morning. Water can revive you quickly and get you going.
4. Have an early morning walk first thing. There is something great about taking an early morning walk. The sun might be just coming up, the dew is on the grass, and everything seems peaceful. You can get your heart pumping and mind working. I have had some of my best ideas while on my morning walk.
Maybe you cannot implement everyone of these ideas, but pick out at least one and try it out for a week. Then try adding on another. Before you realize it you will be a waking up pro. Follow these principles and you will discover how to wake yourself up everyday.
