EverDo.It – An Evernote Task Manager

by Jonathan on January 9, 2013

As I write this post there is a new Evernote Task Manager that is awaiting approval in the Apple App Store. For a long time now Evernote lovers have been begging for some type of To Do Manager for Evernote.

While there are many hacks for a to do manager inside Evernote, all of them have their limitations. Slowly but surely, developers are beginning to create to do apps that sync with Evernote. I personally still have my eyes on ZenDone as I am curious how that will develop over time.

What Exactly is EverDo.It?

Everdo.it review - Evernote To Do App ManagerI recently came across EverDo.It and I must say it is intriguing. It is based on Getting Things Done (GTD) and follows that methodology. What grabbed my attention is the fact that you can highlight a text anywhere in your Evernote note and turn it into a To Do Task inside the EverDo.It App.

You can also sync the task to your calendar creating a due date (another request many Evernote users want).

The workflow for EverDo.It can be summed up in 4 steps.

1. Create a note in Evernote.

2. Sync your note in EverDo.It

3. Create single or multiple tasks (to dos) from your Evernote note.

4. Create projects and finish tasks.

Here is a simple graphic that explains the process:

Question: If you are an Evernote lover, how do you manage tasks?

I have also been waiting app like that.

I really like Evernote and I use it for all my notes and to do lists. I also use it for drafting all my writings and even emails. I like it because it is available everywhere. In Ipad, my home pc, work laptop and my phone.

I have one list where I add items. I add always the most stressful items first and when they are done, I just remove them. I use Evernote because of the cloud, but also because it is easy to add notes for the items if needed. Search is also really good.

I have too. I just heard that it is now live in the App Store so I am going to give it a try. Let me know your thoughts if you try it as well.

Yes, I will let you know.

I did check the webpage. I think I am searching for a bit simpler Task Manager for me. Ability to edit either in Evernote or in app sounds interesting though.

I’m with you Rami. Really wish Evernote would just create the functionality but they seem to stay focused on their core mission of note capturing.
